Last updated: October 2026 · Pre-release version
This Privacy Policy describes how the Trago application (hereafter “the App”) collects, uses, and protects user information. Trago is developed by InsightValues.
This policy applies to the pre-release version of Trago for Android. Some details may change before the official launch.
1. Information the App collects
Trago is designed to operate with local processing. The App does not create a user account, does not require authentication, and does not maintain profiles on InsightValues servers.
What happens on your device:
- Voice input (microphone): The App requests microphone permission to capture the user’s speech. This permission is required for voice translation to work.
- Speech recognition (STT): Speech processing occurs locally on the device during normal use of the App. Audio is not sent to InsightValues’ external servers. However, the App may use Android system components for voice processing; those components have their own privacy policies (including Google’s).
- Translation: Translation is performed by models running locally on the device. No text is sent to external servers during normal use.
- Translation history: Translations are stored locally on the device only. History is not synced to any server and is not shared with third parties.
- Voice output (TTS): The App uses Android’s native Text-to-Speech synthesiser. Use of this component is governed by Android/Google’s privacy policy.
2. Model downloads
The App downloads translation and speech recognition models from InsightValues servers. This occurs once (or when model updates are available). The download request includes minimal technical information required for the file transfer (such as the requested model version), but does not include personal user data, translation history, or audio content.
3. What the App does not collect
- No account creation or authentication.
- No cloud data synchronisation.
- No analytics collection by default.
- No in-app purchases, subscriptions, or payment platform integrations.
- No sharing of data with third parties by the App’s own initiative, beyond the Android system components described above.
4. Data retention and deletion
All data generated by the App (translation history, exported files) is stored locally on the user’s device. Users can clear history directly through the App’s settings or Android device settings. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.
5. Security
Trago’s offline-first architecture is designed to reduce data exposure to third parties. However, this is a design characteristic — not an absolute privacy or security guarantee. The security of local data also depends on the user’s device security settings.
6. Children
Trago is not directed at children under 13 years of age and does not knowingly collect information from children.
7. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated before and after the official App launch. The most recent version will always be available on this page.
